Ellisons Win Innovation Award Shortlisted for the third time as Coach Operator of the year Ellisons win a new award.... Winners of Medium Coach Operator of The Year in 2007/8,  and Nominated for 2009, Ellisons Travel went ahead and won the Coach Operators Innovation award  at the prestigous RouteONE Excellence awards.  Voted for by those who work within the industry, the awards are known as one of the highest accolades a company can attain in the coach and bus world and the Innovation Award was new for this year. Managing Director, Andrew Magowan said ' to win in 2007 and be nominated and shortlisted in 2008 and again in 2009, shows our commitment to high standards and continuing advancement within the coach industry.  As the nominations come from those who 'know the business inside and out', we were proud to be in the running, but to win this new Innovation Award, is a testament to our high standards and keeping up with the latest technology'. The award was presented to Ellisons at the Awards Ceremony held on 7th October at the National Motorcyle Museum, and specifically took into account the Alcolock device that is fitted to all Ellisons Coaches.  Alcolock is a breath test system, similar to that used by the police.  Fitted to a vehicle, the driver blows into it, prior to starting the engine.  Any trace of alcohol and the vehicle will fail to start. Ellisons introduced this safety feature on all their Premiership Vehicles, back in 2007 and following its success all coaches have been installed with this safety feature.
